Особливості навчання студентів – медиків перекладу текстів за фахом

Abstract

Стаття присвячена дослідженню способів перекладу текстів медичного спрямування, розглянуто медичний термін як одиницю перекладу, описані типові помилки і труднощі при перекладі медичних термінів, зроблено аналіз перекладу "хибних друзів перекладача" на прикладі медичних термінів, виокремлено основні конкретні закономірності перекладу літератури за фахом, що забезпечують основне завдання перекладу; The main reason for our research is the specificity of medical terms in English. Medical language belongs to the so-called languages for special purposes which differ from everyday language above all in the specificity of the terminology. These languages for special purposes are part of the language system and can be classified in different ways. In our research we pay much attention to investigation of one of the most developed terminological sub-systems of English and Ukrainian – medical terminology. Medical translation can be considered as one of the most difficult, because medicine is a science where the truth of the translated material plays an important role, because life and humans health depend on this translation. Medical translation includes several factors such as a large number of synonyms, usage of abbreviations, increasing of medical vocabulary, presence of “false friends”. The article deals with the investigation of medical terms translation, medical term as a unit of translation is described, typical mistakes and difficulties during medical terms translation are distinguished, analysis of “false friends” translation was solved, the main specific characteristics of medical terms which provide the main task of the translation are emphasized, the main concepts of semantic analysis of the term are characterized. The main vocabulary of medical texts was analyzed, terms were described. We found out that translation should be faithful and close to original. Translated material must contain only verified medical terminology. In our work we emphasize the main requirements to medical text translation that provide the main task of translation – straightforward and accurate information.
