Осмислення фронтирної тематики у творчості бітників

Abstract

Категорія художнього простору є невід’ємним компонентом структури тексту художнього твору. У ХХ ст. явище простору як таке набуло кардинального переосмислення. Художній простір може реалізуватися у різних варіаціях, залежно від задуму письменника. Для американської літератури надзвичайно важливим є феномен фронтиру. Внаслідок процесів, що історично відбувалися на території Америки, фронтирний простір є вагомою ментальною складовою культури США. Бітники зверталися до тематики фронтиру через те, що вона історично несе в собі культ волі і демократії, фронтир для них - національний архетип, метафора свободи. Важливим елементом фронтирної тематики є дорога, подорож як шлях. Метафора дороги для бітників - це або її мета, пошук цінностей, або вона сама, тобто дорога заради дороги, що і вирізняє трактування і сприйняття образу дороги бітніками.

The category of artistic space is integral to the structure of the text of a work of fiction. In the 20 th century, the phenomenon of space alone was reinterpreted in fundamental ways. Artistic space can be implemented in different variations, depending on the writer’s intention. The phenomenon of the frontier is of utmost importance for American literature. Due to the historical processes in the USA, the frontier space has become an important mental component of American culture. Beatniks elaborated the theme of the frontier because it historically carries the cult of freedom and democracy; for them the frontier is a national archetype, a metaphor for freedom. An important element of the frontier theme is the road, and travel as a path. The road as a metaphor for the Beatniks is either a purpose, the search for values, or a thing in itself, i.e. the road for the sake of the road, which distinguishes the interpretation and perception of the image of the road by the Beatniks.
