Abstract: Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE) is an autoimmune and chronic inflammatory disease of the connective tissue that involves multiple body systems. The oral cavity is one of the places where the first signs and symptoms may appear for a patient who is suffering from SLE. In most cases, if there is some discomfort or any complaints that are arising from the mouth, the dentist is the first professional that the patient might visit in order to remove the problems. Therefore, here comes the importance for dentists to be aware and to have knowledge about the clinical signs of SLE and its manifestations in the oral cavity in order for the dentist to send the patient to a more profound treatment.
