Diagnostic significance of clinical parameters in algorithms of management of children with gastrointestinal symptoms of allergic and non-allergic nature

Анотація

Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) consistently continue to occupy a leading position in the overall structure of childhood diseases. The vast majority of paediatric patients have gastrointestinal symptoms of non-allergic nature. However, the steady increase in the number of cases of food allergy (FA) significantly complicates the diagnosis of allergic gastrointestinal disease due to the high similarity of symptoms and the lack of specific diagnostic markers, which often leads to the management of patients under the mask of non-allergic diseases of the digestive system. In turn, the development of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with food intake does not always confirm the allergic genesis of gastrointestinal pathology, which creates preconditions for a more detailed study of clinical parameters in patients with a goal of a differentiated approach to the management of patients with non-allergic and allergic (food allergy) lesions of the digestive tract.
