Article contains the analysis of scientific literature and normative documents regulating the professional readiness of a physical education teacher in a higher educational institution for innovative activity. Our work defines following stages of professional formation of the teacher of physical education with the use of fitness technologies: the stage of adaptation, the stage of professionalization and the stage of professional mastery.
