Система оцінювання знань студентів на кафедрі анатомії людини ДЗ «Дніпропетровська медична академія МОЗ України»

Abstract

З метою створення об’єктивної та прозорої системи оцінювання знань студентів на кафедрі анатомії людини ДУ «ДМА МОЗ України» була введена модель контролю, яка включає інтегрований контроль теоретичних знань і практичних навичок. Основні принципи моделі: 1) доступність інформації з контролю в он-лайн режимі (всі питання, включені до білетів змістовних модулів, практичних навичок і тести, знаходяться на сайті кафедри; 2) чіткі диференційовані критерії оцінки; 3) повну відповідність екзаменаційних завдань відкритій інформаційній базі; 4) незалежне оцінювання знань; 5) мінімізація «людського фактору»; 6) швидка публікація результатів на сайті з можливістю «зворотного контролю»; С целью создания объективной и прозрачной системы оценивания знаний студентов на кафедре анатомии человека ГУ «ДМА МЗ Украины» была введена модель контроля, которая включает интегрированный контроль теоретических знаний и практических навыков. Основные принципы модели: 1) доступность информации по контролю в он-лайн режиме (все вопросы, включенные в билеты содержательных модулей, практических навыков и тесты, находятся на сайте кафедры; 2) четкие дифференцированные критерии оценки; 3) полное соответствие экзаменационных заданий открытой информационной базе; 4) независимое оценивание знаний; 5) минимизация «человеческого фактора»; 6) быстрая публикация результатов на сайте с возможностью «обратного контроля»; Our aim was to create an objective and transparent system for the estimation of the students’ knowledge at the department of human anatomy of the State Establishment «DMA of HM of Ukraine». A new model includes the integrated monitoring of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The basic principles of the model are: 1) the availability of control information in on-line mode (all theoretical questions included for content modules, practical skills and tests are present on the department’s website); 2) the clear differentiated criteria for the evaluation; 3) the full compliance of examination tasks with an open information base; 4) the independent assessment of knowledge; 5) the minimization of the «human factor»; 6) the quick publication of results on the site with the possibility of «reverse control». The teacher put marks for oral test in practical classes using the traditional 4-point scale (5, 4, 3, 2). Theoretical questions and practical skills in the form of oral test — 5 specific, clearly defined questions that need to provide answers using Latin terminology (1 correct answer — 1 point). The practical skills – to demonstrate an anatomical structure on samples, diagrams, tables and name it in Latin. Marks: «5» — 5 correct answers, «4» — 4 correct answers, «3» — 3 correct answers, «2» — 2 or fewer correct answers. The marks in practical classes are not converted to the points. The oral test of student is not obvious for every student in practical class, the aim of the test is the discussion to clarify the topic. This mode allows to pay more attention to explaining of the material based clinical relevance, and use a differentiated approach to students. The module oral test using cards with 10 theoretical and practical questions is provided in the museum by the examiners. The examiners are the senior teaching staff. The theoretical oral test — 5 specific, clearly defined questions that need answers including Latin terms (each full answer is 1 point). Practical skills – to show and name 5 anatomical structures in Latin (1 correct answer using Latin terminology — 1 point, no Latin terminology — 0.5 points). The results of each test examiners put to the examination card. For the written test at the end of semester the formal tests from license database «Step 1» were used. Each student gets a task that consists of 50 tests. 50 minutes are given. The necessary level is 75% correct answers and above. In condition of achievement this level the student will receive 25 points. If it is less than 75% — 0 points. The students who are admitted to the final exam receive a control task, which consists of 100 theoretical questions (tests). The result is a percentage of correct answers is converted to scores by the formula: score = % correct answers * 0.8. Thus, the maximum score is 80. The criterion for a successful exam is to achieve a level of 63% correct answers (50 points). Students who reported less than 63% of tests, are rated as «unsatisfactory». The results of all types of control are published on the department’s website and available for students, their parents, teachers and deans of faculties. The student can see the results on the site and monitor by himself compliancing of these data with the results had been announced by the examiner to him. In case of appellation the student can apply to the department head and compare the declared result with one fixed in the examination card. The nonadjusted results are changed and published at once. Thus, the described model meets the modern principles of high education and can be offered to use for high education institutions.
