Abstract

The article describes the importance of politics in human life. The attention has been paid to its genesis, but most of all to its proper understanding. Politics is not only the art of governing, but also taking actions that will prove to be the best for the development of each society. Persons who exercise power cannot pay attention only to the economic development of the country, but above all to creating appropriate conditions for the realization of the higher values of each person. Politicians should always tahe into account the implementation of the common good. Politics used by the rulers for their own particular interests leads to the collapse of democracy and, conseąuently, to the destruction of society.
