Evaluation of susceptibility of reference strains of microorganisms to the combined action of essential oils and mexidol(Полтавський державний медичний університет, 2021) Bobrova, N. A.; Vazhnichaya, E. M.; Loban, G. A.; Devyatkina, T. A.; Lugovaya, L. A.; Balyuk, O. Ye.; Bashtovenko, O. A.; The susceptibility of the reference strains S. aureus ATCC 25923 and E. coli ATCC 25922 to 14 essential oils (EOs) and their combinations with mexidol (ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate) was studied using the disk diffusion method. It was shown that a combination of all EOs (with the exception of EOs of eucalyptus and ginger) with mexidol increases the susceptibility of S. aureus ATCC 25923 to these agents, with the most pronounced effect being observed with oils of lemon, lavender, fir, and rose. The susceptibility of E. coli ATCC 25922 to EOs of cinnamon, mint, tea tree, rose, eucalyptus, cloves, and sage significantly increases when combined with mexidol, and this effect is most pronounced when using combinations of mexidol with rose, eucalyptus, and clove oils. The discovered ability of mexidol to increase the susceptibility of microorganisms to EOs can be a basis for the development of pharmaceutical compositions with these substances in which an enhanced antimicrobial effect will accompanied by an antioxidant activity and low toxicity. Geyko, O. The increasing of the expression CD3 receptors was observed by the peptide PEKDSRK; CD4 receptors-by the peptides PEKDDRL and REKDLRK; CD8 receptors - by the peptide PEKDLRK; and CD72 - by the peptides PEKDSRK and PEKDDRL. This results suggested that the peptide complex and its analogs are influenced on the functional activity of the T-cells; Geyko, O. A.; Bashtovenko, O. A.; Zvagolskaya, I. M.; Kaydasheva, E. I.; Kvak, O. V.; Berkalo, L. V.; The purpose of the present study was the three synthetic peptides and the comparison of the above mentioned with the natural kidneys peptide complex by experimental autoimmune nephritis. All the peptides studied had the therapeutic effect, but its degree was guite different. PEKDLRK peptide stimulated the lympfocytes blasttranstormation and the neutrophiles phagocytosis activity. PEKDSRK intensified not only the erythrocyte production but also the hemoglobin contents of the above mentioned, and also the peptide stimulated the lymphocyte blasttransformations and phagocytosis activity of the neutrophiles. PEKDDRL implified the lymphocyte production. We can conclude that principally there is a possibility of creating a synthetic peptide, action of which is analogous to the action of the natural kidneys peptide complexes, participating in the physiologic functions regulation.
