    Anemia in children in Ukraine: a 24-year retrospective analysis of morbidity and prevalence

    The article is devoted to the growth of morbidity and prevalence of anemia in children of Ukraine in the period from 1994 to 2017. The methods of the system approach and epidemiological analysis of the MOH of Ukraine’s data in the period from 1994 to 2017 were used in the study. The retrospective study revealed that the incidence rate in children of Ukraine aged 0–17 inclusive increased by 31.4 % and by 59.8 % in the prevalence of anemia with their predominant detection in children affected by the Chernobyl accident and children constantly living in the areas with radiological control after the 1986 accident. A direct and noticeable relationship was established between the prevalence of anemia in children aged 0–14 years inclusive in 2011 and the population-weighted effective total radiation dose of the whole body in residents of different regions of Ukraine for the period 1997–2011 (p<0.05), which may indicate a possible impact of the accident consequences in combination with other factors on the incidence and prevalence of anemia in children.

    Medical and environmental aspects evolution of diseases of the endocrine system in children of Ukraine

    We have found that in 2017 9.569 cases of endocrine system diseases were detected in children affected by the Chornobyl accident (or 24,67 per 1.000 children), which is by 1.7 times higher than the mean incidence of this pathology in children in Ukraine. Мethods of statistical evaluation and epidemiological analysis of state medical statistics from 1993 to 2020 were used.Throughout 25 years of observation we have discovered that from the period of 1993 to 2017 was a decrease in the incidence and prevalence of the endocrine system diseases in children by 36.9 %, and, more significantly, by 65.5 % – in children who suffered as a result of the Chernobyl accident. At the same time, disability increased by 5.3 times. The prevalence and incidence of endocrine diseases in children affected by the Chernobyl accident are significantly higher than the national mean, especially in the detection of thyroid disease.

    На сьогодні стан здоров’я дітей та підлітків, які перенесли гострі респіраторні інфекції або страждають на хронічні захворювання, є важливою та маловивченою проблемою. Перенесений COVID-19 та постковідний синдром, пнев-монії – складні патологічні стани, що значно впливають на функціональні можливості організму та якість життя ди-тини. Не менший вплив на стан здоров’я чинить і ожиріння, яке також є важливою медико-соціальною проблемою. метою дослідження було узагальнення даних літератури щодо значення проб з фізичним навантаженням у дітей із постковідним синдромом після перенесеної пневмонії різної етіології та ожирінням; аналіз сучасних аспектів для оцінки толерантності до фізичного навантаження.
