A.; Мороховець, Галина Юріївна; Лисанець, Юлія Валеріївна; Бєляєва, Олена Миколаївна; Стеценко, Сергій Анатолійович; Шликова, Оксана АнатоліївнаУ статті проаналізовано досвід запровадження дистанційного навчання в Україні, досліджено ефективність онлайн навчання в порівнянні з аудиторною формою, розглянуто роль мотивації в процесі дистанційного навчання та фактори, що впливають на ефективність онлайн навчання. Метою дослідження є визначення, теоретичне обґрунтування та експериментальна перевірка ефективності дистанційного навчання в медичному університеті. Авторами проаналізовано результати анкетування 315 здобувачів медичного та стоматологічного факультетів Полтавського державного медичного університету другого (магістерського) і третього (освітньо-наукового) рівнів вищої освіти. Показано, що онлайн навчання впливає не лише на рівень мотивації здобувачів освіти до продовження навчання, а й на ставлення до майбутньої професії. Дистанційне навчання спрямоване на індивідуалізацію процесу отримання знань на відстані з використанням сучасних інформаційно-комунікаційних технологій. Водночас необхідно відстежувати результати навчання та досліджувати їх залежність від зростання популярності онлайн навчання у світі. Авторами розроблено анкету на основі моделі Дональда Кіркпатріка та застосовано методику вивчення фак- торів привабливості професії. 85,49 % респондентів відзначили своє загальне враження від організації дистанційного навчання позитивним (271 респондент), задоволені організацією дистанційного навчання у ЗВО – 74,13 % опитуваних, на питання «Наскільки ясно Ви розумієте, що роботи з отриманими дистанційно знаннями?» за шкалою від 1 до 5 (1 – не ясно взагалі, 5 – дуже ясно) респонденти розподілили свої голоси наступним чином – 1,58%, 7,26 %, 29,97 %, 43,53 % та 17,66 % відповідно. Результати опитування за даним питанням не корелюють з результатами тестового контролю, проведеного в межах опитування (r=-0,06010, р=0,2892). Експериментальна перевірка показала розбіжності між загальним враженням від організації дистанційного навчання здобувачів та рівнем знань, які вони засвоїли під час дистанційного навчання. Рівень, за яким здобувачі визначали складність роботи під час дистанційного навчання, не корелював з результатами тестового контролю респондентів (r=0,04745, р=0,4028), та віком респондентів (r=0,1379, р=0,0242). При цьому рівень володіння технічними навичками роботи з програмним забезпеченням, веб-ресурсами залежав від віку опитуваних (r=0,2432, р<0,0001), але не корелював з рівнем, за яким здобувачі визначали складність роботи під час дистанційного навчання (r=0,0818, р=0,1826), та рівнем загального вражання від вивчення дисципліни (r=-0,0972, р=0,1130). Наявність попереднього досвіду дистанційного навчання не корелювала з показником результативності вивчення дисципліни (r=0,003982, р=0,9441), що свідчить про те, що попередній досвід дистанційного навчання не впливає на ефективність дистанційного навчання в цілому. Результати проведеного опитування дають змогу стверджувати, що на ефективність дистанційного навчання не впливають стать і рівень освіти. Натомість є підстави стверджувати, щона ефективність процесу значним чином можуть впливати комунікативні і технічні навички. Дослідження не претендує на остаточне розв’язання проблеми підвищення ефективності дистанційного навчання у середовищі медичного закладу вищої освіти. Подальшого вивчення потребують теоретико-методологічні аспекти зарубіжного досвіду використання спеціального програмного забезпечення (систем управління навчанням, баз даних, програмних оболонок) для оптимізації процесу дистанційного навчання.Документ Abraham Flexner: a man, teacher, and reformer(Полтавський державний медичний університет, 2024) Bieliaieva, O. A thorough analysis unfolds against the backdrop of historical epochs shaping Flexner's impactful contributions. The study highlights the imperative nature of the radical reforms enacted in the early 20th century. Flexner led the way in these transformative actions, which included closing and radically reorganizing institutions that trained future doctors. This initiative was carried out at the request of the American Medical Association for Medical Education, with steadfast support from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. This paper highlights the necessity of these reforms for the "sanitation" and progressive evolution of both medical education and the US healthcare system, despite encountering staunch opposition from the academic and medical communities of the time. Central to the discussion are the criteria put forth by Flexner for evaluating the quality of medical education. Emphasizing crucial aspects like the quality of students, having an educational license, standardized admission procedures, a strong material and technical setup, qualified faculty, and students' access to clinical facilities, the study clarifies the essential role these elements played in Flexner's vision. The research sheds light on the success of Flexner's reforms, attributing a significant portion to his personal qualities and pedagogical education. His ability to dispassionately evaluate medical schools across the USA and Canada showcases the depth of his insights. Materials and methods: The presentation sample was made by the method of continuous sampling based on textbooks, manuals, including the three-volume edition “Infectious and parasitic diseases”, and a number of modern dictionaries. Structural, semantic and descriptive methods were used to address the aim of the research. Results: Monolexemic composites with a zoomorphic component are formed in a suffixal way. In multi-word phrases, syntactic constructions of mixed type, are usually used and they are characterized by the combination of words of Greek and Latin origin, but these formations are few. The eponymous and toponymic formations to denote specific nosological forms in helminthology are not typical. The data on the first contribution of a researcher to the description of the disease in the name of the term is not displayed, preference is still given to the name of the pathogen, rather than the name of the researcher. The prefix-suffix-based method of formation of terms denoting infectious and parasitic diseases with a zoonymic component is observed sporadically. Conclusions: The comparison of the above-analyzed terms with the corresponding terminological units of the English medical terminology indicates the predominant use of Latin terminological units. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the feasibility of applying Coventry University's experience in organizing and implementing COIL exchanges in the academic setting of medical and ecological education in Ukraine, thereby fostering enriching opportunities for students and staff to collaborate at the intersection of healthcare, sustainability, business, and law. Materials and methods. The authors outlined the benefits of COIL initiatives between partners, as well as possible challenges in their implementation relying on the corpus of research papers published within the last 5 years available online in PubMed, Google Scholar and other databases, applying the methods of analysis and synthesis, systematization, generalization, comparative and contrastive methods. Results. Given the current conditions of the Russian invasion and martial law in Ukraine, COIL seems to be particularly relevant, providing a vital avenue for global collaboration in education when physical travel abroad may be difficult or impossible. The emphasis on cultural immersion, global perspectives, and the adaptability of the projects make COIL a promising direction for enriching both students and staff within the Ukrainian higher education framework. Highlighting the transformative potential of COIL, the paper proposes potential topics for interdisciplinary COIL projects between healthcare, ecology, business & law professionals. Conclusions. In the context of Ukrainian higher education, the paper suggests that adopting COIL exchanges could enhance collaboration between institutions, empowering students and providing flexible tools for achieving educational objectives. COIL exchanges offer a pathway to enhance educational outcomes while nurturing vital skills and perspectives essential for students and staff to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. У статті розглянуто досвід реалізації проєктів COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning – спільне міжнародне онлайн-навчання) в Університеті Ковентрі та обґрунтовано доцільність їх застосування в контексті української вищої медичної освіти. Мета статті – продемонструвати доцільність застосування досвіду Університету Ковентрі в організації та впровадженні обмінів COIL в академічному середовищі медичної та природничої ̧ екологічної зокрема, освіти в Україні, сприяючи тим самим збагаченню можливостей для співпраці здобувачів освіти і науково-педагогічних працівників на перетині охорони здоров’я, ініціатив сталого розвитку, бізнесу і права. Матеріали та методи. Автори окреслили переваги проєктів COIL, а також можливі виклики в процесі їх реалізації, спираючись на корпус наукових статей, опублікованих протягом останніх 5 років і доступні в PubMed, Google Scholar та інших базах даних, застосовуючи методи аналізу й синтезу, систематизації, узагальнення, а також порівняльно-зіставний метод. The main objectives of higher medical education are continuous professional improvement of physicians to meet the needs dictated by the modern world both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In this respect, the system of higher medical education has undergone certain changes − from determining the range of professional competences to the adoption of new standards of education in medicine. Aim. The article aims to analyze the parameters of doctor’s professionalism in the context of competence-based approach and to develop practical recommendations for the improvement of instruction techniques. Materials and methods. The authors reviewed the psycho-pedagogical materials and summarized the acquired experience of teachers at higher medical institutions as to the development of instruction techniques in the modern educational process. The study is based on the results of testing via the technique developed by T.I. Ilyina. Analytical and biblio-semantic methods were used in the paper. Results. It has been found that the training process at medical educational institution should be focused on the learning outcomes. The authors defined the quality parameters of doctors’ training and suggested the model for developing the professional competence of medical students. This model explains the cause-and-effect relationships between the forms of instruction, teaching techniques and specific components of professional competence in future doctors. Conclusions. The paper provides practical recommendations on developing the core competencies which a qualified doctor should master. The analysis of existing interactive media in Ukraine and abroad has been performed. It has been found that teaching the core disciplines with the use of latest technologies and interactive means keeps abreast of the times, while teaching social studies and humanities to medical students still involves certain difficulties.Документ Development of geriatric dentistry: review of international experience(Полтавський державний медичний університет, 2024) Skrypnykov, P. The article examined international practices within this domain and proposed a “road map” for the development of domestic gerodontology, which provides the implementation of a number of tasks, namely: compiling a questionnaire and conducting a survey on the state of geriatric dentistry in Ukraine among higher educational institutions training dentists; further adoption of advanced European and world experience; studying the opinion of the target audience – elderly patients, – regarding their satisfaction with the level of specialized dental care; implementation of interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary educational programs to be applied at the undergraduate/postgraduate stages of dental education; design of long-term/short term certificate programs to be offered to dentists in the process of continuous professional development in order to increase the share of gerondologists in the structure of dentists in Ukraine. Стаття присвячена питанням розвитку геріатричної стоматології. Проаналізовано закордонний досвід у цій галузі. V.Representations of a literary image in the national literature directly reflect the society’s ideas and attitudes toward their real-life prototypes at a certain period of time. The present paper focuses on the literary depiction of medical practitioners in Ray Bradbury’s "Chrysalis". The story features three images of physicians who face an unusual medial case and demonstrate different professional and moral features. The condensed inhuman models of the physicians in Ray Bradbury’s "Chrysalis" are used as allegorical representations: physicians are essentially the major vehicles of spiritual and intellectual values at all times, and descriptions of their degradation into callous and indifferent examiners is actually the author’s powerful tool for exposure and denouncement of the societal vices. By using the dehumanized images of doctors who show little interest in their patient’s problems and concerns, Ray Bradbury warns the reader about the danger of losing one’s empathy and humanity in the world wars of the 20th century.Документ Enhancing EAP instruction with VersaText(Полтавський державний медичний університет, 2024) Lysanets, Yu. The principles of using scientific and medical information and the levels of evidence in the process of diagnostics and treatment have been studied. The results of the activity of the Cochrane community and international problem groups, aimed at formation, systematization and updating of information on prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of patients have been analyzed. M.The present paper suggests a system of organizing the training material in order to facilitate memorizing of grammar structures and avoid errors in writing research articles. The results of the research have been integrated into the 1st edition of Medical English for Academic Purposes (2018). The study of potential difficulties, which Ukrainian medical professionals may face in the process of writing English research articles, is important for developing the guidelines to eliminate possible mistakes and avoid misunderstanding in medical communication.
