dc.descriptionAim: The aim of this research is to explore, analyze, and characterize the integration of code glosses in dentistry informed consent forms (ICFs), focusing on their role in enhancing patient understanding of technical terminology and procedural codes. This study will involve a detailed analysis of the percentage distribution of different code gloss markers found in reviewed dentistry informed consent forms, categorized using Hyland’s (2005) taxonomy of metadiscourse markers. Through this analysis, the study also seeks to identify patterns and potential areas where patients may encounter challenges in accessing and comprehending the information presented in the forms.
