Independent work of students as a basis for quality qualification training
Higher education plays an essential role in providing professional training of competent and competitive specialists for the health care system. Nowadays, the educational process mainly focuses on active teaching methods and independent work of higher education students. Employers are only sometimes satisfied with the quality of training of higher education institution graduates. When it comes to improving the quality of education of higher education students, one of the main focus areas is developing students’ skills of independent work, which necessitates teaching them to autonomously process, analyze, structure, and effectively use the information students need for their utmost self-fulfillment and contribution to society. The modern higher education system seeks to intensify the cognitive activity of students by independently finding answers to questions. Reducing the number of in-class lessons requires organizing the independent study of topics and providing proper methodological support for students’ independent work. The efficiency of students’ independent work depends on planning. When planning this type of work, it is necessary to consider students’ ability to work on topics independently, i.e. the material’s complexity and volume. Naturally, a teacher plays the primary role in organizing higher education students’ independent work. Evaluating the quality of independent work requires a qualitatively new format of conducting contact hours of a teacher with higher education students. Based on the experience of the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, the most effective methods include round table discussions, Internet reviews, computer presentations, case studies, conferences, debates, and role-playing games. Thus, using active learning methods and new monitoring forms in managing the independent work of higher education students significantly improves the quality of training of future doctors.

Peculiarities of motor activity of rats in simulation pharmacological depressogenic states
The aim: To analyze and compare the features of changes in the motor activity of rats on the background of pharmacological models of depressive disorders. Materials and methods: Depressive-like state was simulated on 40 mature male Wistar rats using: reserpine (15 mg/kg), clonidine (0.1 mg/kg), haloperidol (0.25 mg/kg). The control group was given as a single dose 0.5 ml of a 0.9% sodium chloride solution intraperitoneally. After 3, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours from the beginning of the experiment, changes in motor activity in the “open field” test were examined by the number of crossed squares, the calculation was carried out within 5 minutes. Results: Reserpine at a dose of 15 mg/kg caused probable motor activity disorders in rats in the “open field” test during all study periods. The most pronounced inhibition of motor activity was observed within 12-48 hours from the beginning of the experiment. 3 hours after clonidine administration, the number of crossed squares decreased by 310% (p<0.001), after 12 hours – by 180% (p<0.001), after 24 hours – by 140% (p<0.001), after 48 hours – by 50% (p<0.005) in comparison with the control group. On 3rd day, the motor activity of rats was almost completely restored. The use of haloperidol after 3 hours most significantly impaired the motor activity of rats in the “open field” test, and its recovery was observed after 24 hours. Conclusions: Reserpine inhibited the motor activity of rats, most pronounced from 12 to 48 hours of the experiment. Clonidine inhibited mainly in the first hours of the study. Haloperidol impaired motor activity at 3rd and 12th hours of observation.

Systemic effect of the antioxidant gel in experimental dermatologic pathology
(2024) Vazhnichaya, Elena; Baliuk, Olena; Sydorenko, Antonina; Важнича, Олена Митрофанівна; Балюк, Олена Євгеніївна; Сидоренко, Антоніна Григорівна
Many dermatological diseases are accompanied by oxidative stress and natural antioxidants are used in dermatology and cosmetology. The efforts to use synthetic antioxidants for skin care and treatment are practically absent. That is why we select for this investigation new topical formulation of ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate (EMHPS), a synthetic antioxidant. The objective is to study the status of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant protection in the blood of animals with experimental dermatologic pathology under the influence of the EMHPS gel topical use. There were three series of experiments on 125 adults male Wistar rats with chemical depilation, acute ultraviolet skin damage and psoriatic-like dermatitis. The 5% EMHPS gel was applied to the skin in a dose of 125 mg/kg. The duration of treatment was 21 days after chemical depilation, 3 days after ultraviolet irradiation, and 6 days after the induction of imiquimod dermatitis. The animals were euthanized in different moments of the experiments and the malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase activities were determined in the blood. The data were statistically processed by ANOVA method with a post-hoc Tukey test.
