Abstract

Periodontal disease is one of the most prevalent dental conditions affecting both adults and children. Despite significant advances in understanding its occurrence and development, periodontal disease remains a serious global issue, as evidenced by its high prevalence and the limited effectiveness of current treatments and preventive measures. These diseases can result in premature tooth loss and contribute to various pathological conditions affecting the dentofacial system.
