A German-Ukrainian partnership improved local routine diagnostics of infectious diseases in Ukraine

Abstract

The Ukraine currently experiences extremely challenging times in general and for their healthcare system in particular. The war leads to mass deaths and injuries, significant environmental damage, massive attacks on power supply systems, and the displacement of millions of people. These terrible circumstances inflict massive trauma to both civilians and combatants, and causes many social problems, predisposing for the spread of infectious diseases. At the same time, population migration, the destruction of medical facilities, and other challenges endanger the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
