Analysis of the incidence of urogenital chlamydial infection in pregnant women in the poltava region

Анотація

Despite the fact that there has been a significant decrease in the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases in recent years, the number of cases of mixed infections, as well as individual nosologies, including chlamydia, has increased significantly. However, a large number of infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis remain unknown. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), almost 100 million new cases of C. trachomatis are reported annually worldwide. In 2009, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 1244180 cases of chlamydial infection, but the actual number is at least 2 times higher - about 3 million cases, as the majority (70-90%) of episodes of chlamydial infection of the lower urogenital tract in women are asymptomatic and therefore remain undiagnosed.
