Пошук доступних ресурсів для створення клінічних кейсів із дитячої терапевтичної стоматології

Abstract

Останнім часом завдяки впровадженню проблемно-орієнтованого навчання у медичних навчальних закладах набуло популярності створення клінічних кейсів. Метою дослідження був пошук доступних програм для створення кейсів із дитячої терапевтичної стоматології. З цією метою була апробована програма Adobe Captivate 9, також автори ознайомились із демо-кейсами, що підтримуються платформою Openlabyrinth. Клінічні кейси, розроблені за допомогою програмного забезпечення, сприяють використанню студентами навиків спілкування та обстеження, а також клінічного мислення, необхідного для стоматолога. Adobe Captivate 9 та Openlabyrinth рекомендуються для створення клінічних кейсів із дитячої терапевтичної стоматології; В последнее время благодаря внедрению проблемно-ориентированного обучения в медицинских учебных заведениях приобрело популярность создание клинических кейсов. Целью исследования был поиск доступных программ для создания кейсов по детской терапевтической стоматологии. С этой целью была апробирована программа Adobe Captivate 9, также авторы ознакомились с демо-кейсами, поддерживаемыми платформой Openlabyrinth. Клинические кейсы, разработанные с помощью программного обеспечения, способствуют использованию студентами навыков общения и обследования, а также клинического мышления, необходимого для стоматолога. Adobe Captivate 9 и Openlabyrinth рекомендуются для создания клинических кейсов с детской терапевтической стоматологии; Clinical cases have become very popular over the past few years due to implementation of problem-based learning. The aim of the study was to find available programs for creating cases in pediatric therapeutical dentistry. Searching strategy for identification of articles published between the years 1997-March 2017 was conducted through Google. The search strategy was a combination of free text words such as «cases in dentistry», «e-learning», «case-scenario» and «virtual patients». The search was complemented by checking references of relevant review articles. Eight European medical universities use different program software for creating case scenarios that available from the internal network. Resources like scenario based learning builder or Second life were overestimated in some articles. Virtual patients are computer simulations of clinical encounters where the learner plays the role of a healthcare provider by interacting with an on-screen patient. Typically this includes interviewing, examining, ordering diagnostic tests, making a diagnosis and prescribing therapy. Nowadays one from five of well-known virtual patient players and authoring systems that exist in 2010 is conditionally available for free. It is platform Openlabyrinth. Demo-server of platform Openlabyrinth gives students or teachers an opportunity to familiarize with virtual patients. If a teacher wants to make own cases it has to be installed local server, platform support is only available for free some time. We paid attention on program Adobe Captivate 9 used for creating various kinds of eLearning content. Teachers can create software simulations, compliance trainings, soft skills course, and responsive modules with this single tool. This program has trial period for a month. Our cases that have been created with Adobe Captivate 9 were dealt to children with oral mucosa diseases. During classes and practice students might not see the patients with erythema multiform, oral manifestations of childhood infectious diseases, gastrointestinal, blood diseases and HIV. Cases for English-speaking students were designed using clinical cases described in scientific articles. They contained details about subjective and objective examination and additional diagnostic methods, differential diagnosis information, tests like "Krok 2" about preliminary and final diagnosis, diagnostic methods and treatment of disease, and bibliography about the problem. The first step in working with case is the problem evaluation (students familiarize with the examination dates that contributes better identification of patients' needs, perceptions). The second step is to make a preliminary diagnosis and select necessary additional examinations. Then students transfer to the results of laboratory tests, links about changes in a patient condition, the last point is final diagnosis. All tests included in a case study have options to know the correct answer with background and to return to the previous slide. A student group discuss a clinical case and everybody express his opinion on the diagnosis and treatment of patient that increases motivation to study. Thus, majority of programs used for creating clinical cases and available via internet don’t mean for free using. The authors tried Adobe Captivate 9 for creating clinical cases in pediatric therapeutical dentistry and familiarized with cases from demo-server of plarform Openlabyrinth. Clinical cases programmed with software help students to use communication and examination skills, and clinical thinking required for a dentist. Adobe Captivate 9 and Openlabyrinth can be recommended for making clinical cases in pediatric therapeutical dentistry
