Enhancing grammatical collocation proficiency in ESP (dentistry) through authentic clinical documents

Abstract

Authentic clinical documents serve as valuable teaching tools for dental students, aiding in language acquisition and cultural understanding. However, mastering collocations within these documents poses challenges, particularly for non-native speakers. Our study focuses on revealing grammatical collocations within informed consent templates for dental procedures and incorporating them in various in-class activities to enhance students' comprehension of collocation structures. Автентичні клінічні документи слугують цінним навчальним матеріалом для студентів-стоматологів, допомагаючи у вивченні мови та розумінні культурних нюансів. Засвоєння колокацій у цих документах має все ж певні труднощі, особливо для студентів, які не є носіями англійської мови. Дослідження зосереджене на виявленні граматичних словосполучень у формах інформованої згоди на стоматологічні процедури та внесенні їх до аудиторних вправ для покращення розуміння студентами різноманітних структур граматичних колокацій.
